I’ve been interweaving a kind of experimental “Art Journey” into my post entries, and we are ready to step back into the ongoing journey that we left off of in this post, which was a kind of review point, where we took some time to see and overview of some of the past entries in the Journey.
Now we move forward by moving a bit backwards, to a place where we sort of got stuck at a traffic light:
…And here we find our Driver Friend still waiting at the stoplight, still seeing Red-
What? Still waiting there?
How can our lives be so unfair?
We’d run the light, but do we dare?
We’re forced to sit there, and just stare…
OK, LET’S SEE A BIGGER PICTURE OF THIS…
Bigger picture – Can you feel his mood now?
And now it looks like another driver is coming to the scene…
Then to the scene another comes
their mood impatient soon becomes
And so they sit there, faces glum
and try to keep their cuss words mum.
OK, LET’S SEE A BIGGER PICTURE OF THIS…
Bigger picture – Can you feel their mood now?
…And yet another driver comes to the scene… (Oh, no! What’s this turning into?)
And yet another driver comes
impatient mood to soon succumb
They’re seeing Red
and in their heads,
they think of words best left unsaid!
They’re feeling dread
while seeing red –
Should they have simply stayed in bed?
OK, LET’S SEE A BIGGER PICTURE OF THIS…
Bigger picture – Can you feel their mood now?
Hey – What’s going on here?
NOTES ON THE CREATIVE PROCESS: These images were drawn on computer using vector graphics. They were designed to make up a sequence depicting a somewhat typical encounter with a (moody) stoplight.
PSYCHOLOGICAL NOTES: Isn’t it interesting how such a commonplace device can have such a big impact on our emotions and moods – Think about it the next time you encounter one of them…
NOTES ON THE FORMATTING: Some of the images were presented again in a larger format. This is to enable you to see the facial expressions of the characters more clearly, and thereby feel their moods more effectively. So note how scale can have an effect on how art communicates.
I DARE TO SPECULATE: I’d almost be willing to bet that you were SMILING at all the FROWNING that was going on here! Isn’t it interesting what humor can do to your mind?
OK, let’s hook up this last series of images into the series that preceded it , to form a kind of a “train of thought”:
