I was looking over some of my past posts, and put together a Pastiche composition of some of the images in the posts, in a kind of matrix context. For lack of a better term for it, I call it a “Matrix Pastiche”. Note how the images are built up of elements, and the images in turn then serve as “elements” in the Pastiche composition… this is a form of “Intercontexting”.
In this context, a “Matrix” is like a table of visual elements. This is like a little “vocabulary” of small pictures that can be combined to make larger pictures, which can then be combined to make larger compositions, just as words can be combined to make sentences, and the sentences can be combined to make paragraphs, and so on.
