In the last post , I showed some of the stages that I go through when I derive a new image from existing images by using elements taken from other images, and putting them into a new context:
Now I will put these images into a context utilizing linear perspective, which is intended to draw the eye into the composition, in the direction of the stages of the development of the derivative image:
What direction are your eyes drawn towards? This way? –
So now perspective is being used as a kind of parameter to cause your eyes to move along a certain direction in the image. As your eyes move over those parts of the image, your mind registers the contents in those parts of the image, and your mind follows a kind of “Train of Thought” in the process! So you gradually get the meaning of the whole image as your eye moves along the image, and takes your mind on a little “trip” through it! (VIEWING HINT: Click on the above image to get the full size version of it. I’ve made it big so that you have to scroll through it in order to see all of it. Scroll from the bottom of the image to the top of the image. Enjoy the Trip! Then click the “back button” on your computer screen to return to this context…)
The images that you have seen in this post were meant to show some of the stages that I go through when I derive a new image from existing images by using elements taken from other images, and putting them into a new context. They show these stages using different means of presentation. Compare them next to each other. Are you seeing them in a new perspective now?
