You’ve surely heard about the widespread gloomy prognostications which say that the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012.
While it’s fun to get caught up in the hype of it all, I don’t think that it is something to be taken too seriously. With that in mind, I’ve written a poem to sort of satirize the upcoming “Big Event”:
I Was Born at the End of the World
Well I was born on Dec Twenty One
the day they say that the World’s Undone
Well hell it ain’t going to be too fun
An’ there won’t be no place to run
Yes, I was born at the end of the world
a day of doom and gloom they say
But to all their dark prognostications
I’ll simply no attention pay
They want to scare you with their forecasts
of darkened skies and fiery bomb blasts
They frighten you with threats of judgment
by an angry god ‘cept you repent
Yes, I was born at the end of the world
a day of doom and gloom they say
But to all their dark prognostications
I’ll simply no attention pay
So what shall I do on Dec Twenty One?
I think I’ll go and have some fun
I don’t give a damn if the world should end
I’ll meet with Death, he’ll be my friend!
Yes, I was born at the end of the world
a day of doom and gloom they say
But to all their dark prognostications
I’ll simply no attention pay!
